Sunday Postcard Art

The theme of "circles" was given this week at Sunday Postcard Art.
I used some new paper by Prima for my background. The couple image is by CollageVisions. The flourish circles in both corners are from Autumn Leaves.
And if you look closely you'll see the word "love" stamped across the bottom with an Art Impressions stamp.

Moo Friday

Here are my two moos for this week's theme of vintage romance at Make a Moo or Two.

Images are by Collage Visions

TGIF

I was working on a project with this new paper from Making Memories, Chloe's Closet (really awesome paper) and I decided to make a card with the scraps I had left over. It's a little different from my usual vintage fare, but it was fun.
I saw the theme at TGIF this week is "green" so figured this would pretty much meet the requirements. I really don't do much more green than this.

Vintage ATC's

I really look forward to getting my ATC's from the monthly swap I am in. We've done a year of ATC's. The swap has been hosted by Kris, from Stampin D'Amour.
These are the fabulous ATC's I received for January. The artists are:
Kris Dickinson, Sarah Hemphill, Me
Alice Hyde, Julia Zieman, Lyneen Jesse
Linda Freeman, Pam Sparks, Kathleen Miller.

Theme Thursday

We went from 2x4's to 4x4's this week at Theme Thursday. For my 4x4 I used stamps from Oxford Impressions I love the ice cream shop background as well as this comtemplative little fairy. She looks like an angel to me, so I gave her some heavenly stars overhead.

Wednesday Stamper

Here is the little handbag I made for Wednesday Stamper.
I used stamps from Hero Arts and Studio G.
I'm definitely into the pinks and reds of Valentine's Day!

Arty Girlz Challenge

I'm into making Valentines this year with hearts and lace and that kind of stuff. Reminds me of when we were kids and used to cut out hearts and use doilies to make our Valentines. I've not grown up that much I guess..lol.

The challenge at Arty Girlz blog today is to create an ATC which is simple enough. I used that challenge to create two valentine ATC's which I could then turn into cards.

The images I've used are from CollageVisions.

Think Monday, Think ATC

"Ice Blue" is TMTA's theme this week. I covered some background paper with patterned vellum. I then stamped my postcard stamps in blue Staz-0n. The image is from Stampsmith
and I had stamped that on glossy paper with blue Staz-On as well.

January 25, 2009

Gothic Arch

I was honored and thrilled to be the hostess of the Gothic Arch challenge this week. I selected the theme of "winter sports" which is a favorite of mine at this moment. (The theme, not actually participating..lol!)

I created the background paper for my arch with a sled stamp from Oxford Impressions which I stamped repeatedly on the striped paper.

The main image is from Sugar Lump Studios. I really love that vintage sledding stamp!

I also added some radiant pearls to the corner of the image and to my snowflakes as well.

Art Creations Friday

I have certainly had a busy morning! I have the day off today which allowed me to participate in three challenges (it helps when you are up at four in the morning, too). I didn't even have to combine any of the challenges!
This last card I made with the beautiful image offered by Art Creations Friday. I wanted to make a set of note cards to give as a gift, so this is one of them. I printed the picture out on vellum and it shows the patterned paper behind it very nicely.

Thank God It's Friday

I'm so glad Joanne chose the theme of "books" this week for the Thank God It's Friday challenge. I rarely use this stamp of "Alice Reading" but I like it and am glad for the chance to do so. I also think it's a perfect stamp for a bookmark -- so that's my second one this week!

Moo Friday

Make A Moo or Two has "buildings" as their challenge this week. Fortunately, I just downloaded some collage sheets from Collage Visions yesterday which included this house as
well as the girl with the heart wings.

Theme Thursday

Theme Thursday chose 2x4's as their challenge this week. I have never made something of that size before, so I gave it a try. I used this image from Stampers Anonymous for my skinny. I then made a bookmark from the skinny.

Wednesday Stamper

I could not let the winter go by without making something with my favorite snowman stamp from PSX. So I used today's challenge at Wednesday Stamper to accomplish it. Their theme was "lace," so I added a double layer of it at the top of my card and finished it off with some blue rhinestones (the color of those did not scan well).

It was very scary to add my own handwriting to the bottom of this after the whole card was assembled, but I think it came out all right.

Stampers Sampler

Both of these cards were included in the new Stampers Sampler (Feb/March) that is just coming out. I submitted them for their challenge to use coin envelopes on a card.
The main images on both of them are by Paperbag Studios.

January 19, 2009

TMTA

When I saw the theme at Think Monday, Think ATC was "Queen," I couldn't help but think right away of Mary Engelbreit's famous claim, "It's good to be queen."
So I used an image I had of hers to create my Queen of Her World ATC.
The background stamp is by Oxford Impressions.

January 18, 2009

Oxford Impressions

I have to show the first set of DT stamps I received from Oxford Impressions. The title is "Fairy Sweets". Anyone that knows anything about me would know I was immediately drawn to that gigantic cupcake on the bottom right off the bat.

So of course I used it to create my first piece from this set.

Challenge Combination

Do you ever feel like there's just not enough time to make all the things you want to make? I've got so many projects going on over here, it's not funny. Then when I see the challenges posted I just have to participate in those, too. Lately I've seen a lot of clever artists combining challenges (which seems smart given all the great challenge blogs out there).
I haven't participated in the
moo challenge lately and I wanted to do that. Their theme is "circles." The image that was offered up by Art Creations Friday gave me the idea for my moo. Expect to see a lot of great artwork with that gorgeous image!

Vintage Veranda Challenge

Our Guest Artist this month at Vintage Veranda is Jacqueline from My Scrapbasket. She has posted a challenge this month to make a grid card. She is so good at this -- but definitely a challenge for me. I made this simple card using one of the images from Art Creations Friday and some landmark images from Crafty Individuals.
If you'd like to join in the challenge you can find out the how-to's over Vintage Veranda. Oh, and Jacqueline is offering up an RAK to a random participant, too!

Thank God It's Friday

I was honored to be asked by Sandy to be the guest hostess at Thank God It's Friday this week. I was given the theme of houses to work with and here is my sample piece.
My images are by Oxford Impressions. Other stamps are by Prima, Art Impressions, Inkadinkado, Studio G.

Theme Thursday

The challenge at Theme Thursday of "couples" helped me get this wedding card made. The image is by Shabby Cottage Studio. The sentiment is a a stamp by PSX/Inkadinkado. It's one of my favorites for weddings -- so elegant.

January 14, 2009

Wednesday Stamper

I used the scraps I had from yesterday's card to make this card for Wednesday Stamper. Their theme this week is "openings." A lot of great possibilities there -- I may have to come back and explore this more. Shelly's inspiration piece is amazing!
For my opening I cut out a window from a Prima stamp. The lovely little girl inside is from Oxford Impressions. The trees are from Art Impressions.

Crazy Amigos Challenge

I don't think I've ever participated in this challenge before, but as I was blurfing this morning I came across someone who had created something for today's challenge of "cozy." As my eyes then fell upon this as yet uncolored House Mouse image laying in a box of "stuff," I figured I would have to join in.
I colored the image with Copic markers (which in my opinion give new meaning to "Coloring for Dummies.") They make coloring everything so, so easy! I've even found that they are very compatible with Staz-On ink and glossy paper when stamping photo stamps.
The paper is from Basic Grey's Mistletoe and Pear. My Michael's had it 70 percent off because it was on Christmas clearance, so I was lucky enough to find the 12x12 pad for $7.
As yesterday was my birthday, DH gave me a gift card for Michael's. The best part of the gift though was that he came with me to Michael's while I looked around for just the right thing. He looked terribly uncomfortable, but he stuck with it.
You can see other submissions for this challenge at http://crazyamigochallenge.wordpress.com/.

There's something about......

I loved the theme at Think Monday, Think ATC this week. It's "automobile."
Gave me a chance to use this license plate I have had forever!
Also gave me a chance to use some great stamps by Oxford Impressions (man and car, gears, and gasoline label background.)
As much as I was tempted to, I did not stamp my image in brown -- I stamped it in orange. However, I don't think my scan quite shows it. As I'm off to work, that will have to do.

January 11, 2009

Gothic Arch

With the theme of "grunge" at Gothic Arches this week, my mind immediately went to Stampers Anonymous.
I first stamped the arch image from Stampington on heavy manila cardstock and then covered it with distress inks. The word "serendipity" is from SA. I stamped my little girl from SA on cardstock and cut her out before adding her to the arch.
The circle is on acetate and that is actually the packaging from the clear stamp which goes with it. I added that with two brads on the side.
The crown is grungeboard from Tim Holtz -- you knew there had to be some of that
on there!

January 9, 2009

TGIF

It's a dog theme at TGIF today which gave me a chance to use this new stamp from Artistic Outpost. (They had a fabulous sale after Christmas which made it impossible for me to not buy a couple of their stamp sheets I'd been eyeing.)
All papers are from Making Memories.

Vintage Valentine

After a nice winter break, it's back to work this week -- and I have been busy. Too busy even to stamp. But this morning I really felt the need to create something before going back to the grindstone.
When I saw the challenge at Theme Thursday was vintage valentines, I thought, good, I can finally use these digital valentine images I bought last fall that have been sitting right on top of my craft desk through the whole Christmas season. Now, all of a sudden, it appears they have vanished into thin air. I could not find them anywhere! Urghhhhh!!!

So here is my vintage tag I made instead. The background is made with alcohol inks. You can see the other submissions at Theme Thursday here: http://themethursday.wordpress.com.

Dreaming of Far Away Places

I created this postcard for Vintage Veranda's first monthly challenge of the new year. Our theme for January is Dreaming of Far Away Places. If you join in this month, there's an RAK for one random participant -- and in includes brand new rubber!

January 4, 2009

Sunday Postcard Art

Sunday Postcard Art has "celebrate" as its theme this week. I had fun creating this little guy's party hat.
At least I think he's a guy....

Gothic Arch

We are celebrating the new year over at Gothic Arches today. So glad that challenge is back....I missed it!

January 3, 2009

Art Creations Friday

I'm a day late in creating this piece for Art Creations Friday because I needed a new color cartridge for my printer. My first attempt came out purple -- which is okay, but I really wanted to work with the gorgeous background as ACF posted it this week.
I've used stamps by Paperbag Studios, Artistic Outpost, and Paper Inspirations.

A Year in Review

And now, in no particular order, are some of my favorite things I created last year.

I saw this on a couple of different blogs and thought it was a good idea. If you are a blogger, it's a very cool exercise to go through your blog and review all the art you've created this year.
