Happy Birthday Sunday Postcard Art!

It's Sunday Postcart Art's first birthday, so I used my favorite birthday baby to celebrate!
I created the background by stamping Postcard and Art repeatedly. I then used a receipe for birthday cake to use behind my picture.
Congratulations to SPA! I've had such fun participating in your challenges over the year.
Check out al the fabulous birthday creations here: http://sundaypostcardart.wordpress.com

A Guest Tagger

I was so glad to receive this tag from Denise, a friend I met from the Gingerwood site. She wanted to participate in the tag challenge but is not a blogger. She sent it to me so I could
upload it for her.
I love the simple design here (I always wonder if that is somewhat insulting to call someone's artwork simple -- but I mean it in a good way) . Gorgeous stamp work. And her little pocket on the side holds a delightful vellum tag. Thanks for joining in the pocket challenge!
We'll have a new challenge up this Tuesday so check back then.

Rain

The background was offered by ACF in a lovely green color. Seems I'm running out of ink in my printer and I came up with blue. I printed the music from a songbook where I found the words to "Rain."
I created a background using a partial stamp from Hampton Arts of England (thus taking on the challenge of "architecture" at TGIF. The umbrella man is from Stampers Anonymous.

Theme Thursday

My submission for Theme Thursday this week. The challenge was "tags." (Something I kind of like creating:)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
For those of you that asked what I bought at the stamp store yesterday, sorry I didn't take a picture. But I can tell you this tag contains a couple of the things -- well, the tag itself in fact. But I also bought the background stamp (Paper Artsy) and the little inchie stamp I used on the puzzle piece (Hero Arts).
I live in an area where there are a lot of craft stores. So if I travel an hour and a half out to a stamp store, I make it a point to buy only those things I can't get nearby and can't use a coupon for such as Michael's and Joann's. They had a good selection of Paper Artsy stamps which I can't find locally, so I bought a few of those. The Hero Arch inchie stamps are three years old and discontinued so I wouldn't easily find them. But I like them quite a bit and was able to revive my interest in these puzzle pieces by stamping on them. I also bought a flourish stamp from JudiKins (wood mounted, too, which I almost never buy anymore), but I realized I don't have a single flourish stamp I really like. They also had a lot of old 7 Gypsies papers (going back five or six years) which were of the vintage/collage variety. I grabbed a few of those, just loved them. A few odds and ends like watch faces, cigar bands and that was about it.
Oh, and DH was very good -- dropped me off and waited for the full hour before he came back to find out if I "was done yet."
Wednesday Stamper
I'm still on the text page and vellum craze. So I used those two things for my Wednesday Stamper challenge today to use purple and green. Since purple is one of my favorite colors I was surprised to see how little purple paper I have. My last trip to Archivers I looked for some nice purple patterned paper -- and came up empty!
I stamped my two little girls from PaperBag Studios on cream cardstock and then laid my purple and green vellum over that. The sentiment stamp is from PSX -- an oldie but goodie!
Since DH has the day off and has agreed to accompany me to a fabulous stamp store about an hour away, I'll have to check out all the other submissions when we return.
Memorial Day Greetings
The good looking young man in the center of this photo is my Uncle John (mother's brother). I never met him because he died serving our country in the second World War when he was 21 years old. He gave his life at Iwo Jima serving in the Marines and, sadly, was killed after the war had officially ended. He left no wife or children behind to remember him, so it seems appropriate that his nieces and nephews do so
-- especially on this day.
Gothic Arch Challenge
This weeks' challenge at Gothic Arches is "Garden Sprite." I found this image in a small address book I found at a thrift store. The book is filled with different images of garden fairies.
I knew some day I'd need one, so I'm glad I picked it up.
I made a card out of my arch this week. The background stamp is from StampinUp.
You can see all other arches at http://gothicarches.ning.com/.
Note Cards
I started playing around with some of the text pages I acquired (see 2 posts down) and some of the images from CollageVisions which I had printed out on vellum, and this is what I came up with.
Background paper is from Crafty Individuals.
Theme Thursday -- Numbers
I spent some time this week creating some submissions for the Stampers Sampler template that appears in the June issue. I had so much fun with it -- and this particular one just so happens to coincide with the theme at Theme Thursday which is numbers.
Watch for this template in the new Stampers Sampler. If you can't get ahold of the magazine, they usually post the templates on the Stampington website.
They Just Fell Into My Lap
This fabulous pile of vintage books that is -- German, French, Italian and Chinese text. Most date from 1910-1930. Also music, hymn and Gregg shorthand pages! All beautifully aged.
Normally I would have had to resist -- but now that I've opened an Etsy shop and I can share, I let myself go for it.
I'm selling packets of a mix of 85 pages.
If you'd like to take a look, you can get to my Etsy shop by clicking on the link to the left.
Tag Tuesday Challenge #3
My challenge this week consists of creating a tag that has a pocket in it. For my tag I chose to include a vellum pocket at the bottom and then place a couple tags in the pocket. But you can interpret the theme however you like. I look forward to seeing what interesting pocket ideas are out there.
Since next week is the end of a long holiday weekend (Memorial Day), this challenge will run for two weeeks. Feel free to link your creations here until June 2. At that time I have an RAK I'll be giving away that consists of clear inchie stamps.
For my tag I have used stamps by Oxford Impressions.
Tag Challenge Sampler -- Week 2
Another great week of responses for last week's tag challenge. The theme of "directions" resulted in some great ideas. You can see them below.
Postage People
I've been wanting to try creating "postage people" for a while. Today this is the theme at Sunday Postcard Art. A wonderful tutorial was given, too. This is my take on the theme. Stamps are by Oxford Impressions (Background script); Lost Coast Designs (Mannequin); Paperbag Studios (Harlequin Design).
Great Mail Week
A complementary issue of the June Stampers Sampler arrived in the mail this week. Funny thing about the cover (which I think is just gorgeous), at first glance I thought one of my cards had made the cover. I had submitted a card using this PaperBag Studio stamp a while back.
After looking closely at the cover and through the magazine, I saw the cards included in a two -page layout by an artist named Paula Whittaker. I really liked her work and tried to Google her name to see if she had a blog so I could tell her so.
I couldn't find her -- but I did find my card ........
It was included at t the bottom of her two page lay-out. My name was correctly given, so that was fine. My card is below. Can you see why I took a second look at the cover?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The summer issue of Take Ten came this week as well. I had a good amount of cards published in this issue. These are a few of the ones I liked the best.

TGIF -- Striped Pants

(Click on image to really see the stripes in his pants!)
I have to admit I was soooo tired this evening, but when I saw the theme at TGIF of "striped pants" I just thought it was so original I would not be able to pass it up. It actually didn't take me too long to remember I had this stamp of the gentleman in his striped suit. I also had the matching stamp of the same couple in a close up.

Tag Winner

Although you can keep posting your tags for the Tuesday Tag challenge until next Monday, I did want to post the winner of the two Stampsmith stamps from this weeks' challenge.

And that person is : Evelyn.
Congratulations to you Evelyn!
You can see her lovely tag here: http://tiny.cc/kzm43
Evelyn, e-mail me at kardkrazy@hotmail. com with your address so I can get
those in the mail to you!

Theme Thursday -- Men

Sarah from Vintage Figments sent me this collage stamp quite a while back. I knew it was waiting for the perfect challenge to be inked up, and today's challenge at Theme Thursday of
"Men" was just that. I believe the stamp is from Artful Illusions. I know Sarah will let me know if I've got that right or not.

Memory Album

A couple of pictures of a memory album I completed. The album is from Making Memories. The paper is also, from the Chloe's Closet line. Love the citrus colors in that line!
I added it to my growing store at http://timetoremember.etsy.com.

Tag Tuesday -- Week 2

Welcome to my second Tag Tuesday challenge! This week is going to take a bit of thought. My theme for this week is "directions." You can interpret this any way you wish -- up, down, north, south, arrows, finger pointing, signs or through quotes or sentiments. Should be fun to see what we come up with.

Since we are still in our infancy here, I have another RAK this week. It will be two stamps from Stampsmith (photostamps, unmounted/rubber only.) I think you'll like them! You can play along all week if you'd like, but to be eligible for the RAK you must comment and add a link to your tag by Wednesday at midnight CST.

For my tag I used stamps by Paperbag Studios. I applied distress ink to my tag first. I then added a grungeboard arrow.

TMTA -- Jewels

I really like the colors I applied to this alcohol ink background to create my ATC. After that I simply used a Tim Holtz stamp and added some torn paper to it.

And my crown -- as the theme this week at Think Monday, Think ATC is "jewels."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Note: Tomorrow is Tag Tuesday here on my blog, so check in and see what the challenge is. We had a good response last week -- it was fun to see all the gorgeous tags. You can see them here.
Gothic Arch -- Little Girls
Here is my contribution to the Gothic Arch challenge this week for "little girls."
I used a mask and some of the new spray by Maya Road to create my swirl background on some old book text. I then added a strip of vellum and an image that was offered as a freebie (but I can't for the life of me find the link). I added a strip of my favorite butterfly vellum as well.
To all those who are moms as well as those remembering their moms today -- Happy Mother's Day!
I Took The Plunge
....and I opened up an Etsy Store! Right now I only have cards for sale, but here are a couple pictures of what I've been working on the past eight months or so and will upload into my store soon. These are all pre-made scrapbooks just waiting for pictures to be added. As soon as I find my way around the Etsy thing, I'll have these for sale as well as some other craft type things I've made.
My Etsy store is at http://timetoremember.etsy.com. Stay tuned!
TGIF Challenge
I've had this stamp set from Artistic Outpost for a while and had yet to use it. The TGIF challenge of "childhold" was just the impetus I needed to finally ink it up.
Tag Tuesday
Once again I find myself making a tag on Tuesday. This time I thought since it starts like a new challenge blog, I'll go ahead and invite anyone who wants to join me in making a tag on Tuesday!
The theme is totally open, just make a tag and post it somwhere with a link here so we can all see.
I'll be giving an RAK of vintage related ephemera to one random person who posts before Wednesday at midnight.
For my tag I recycled this picture that came from a scrapbook I bought. It was on the front cover and you were supposed to replace it with your own. I thought it was too precious to throw out.
TMTA -- Peacocks
A bit of a shock to wake up Monday morning to find the theme at Think Monday, Think ATC is peacocks. Had to give that a bit of thought. I did find some peacock feathers I had in an inchie stamp by Inkadinkado. I stamped a few on an alcohol ink background and cut them out. Which turned out to be the easy part. After my third or fourth attempt at creating something with them, this is what I ended up with.
The background stamp is by Tim Holtz. The female profile is by Art Impressions.
Gothic Arch -- Vintage Women
Vintage Women is the theme at today's Gothic Arches challenge.
I played around with distress inks for the background of this arch. I then used my vintage women stamp from Queens Dresser Drawers which I embossed in black.
The coupons are from Tim Holtz. The adventure definition is from Michael's $1 stamps.
