Tag Tuesday -- Challenge #6

"Window" is your challenge for this week. Create a window, stamp a window, however you feel like interpreting the theme.
Link back here so I can come and see your tag!For my tag I cut out a window and then added a transparency over it, so it really does have a window effect.

My background was done with distress inks and a Tim Holtz mask again. I cut out my window and then stamped the frame over the opening. I forget who makes that stamp. The text stamp is from Paper Artsy.

Time Tags

I say it every week -- and I'll say it again: The tags that were submitted for this week's challenge were awesome. You can see all of them below.

TMTA

The theme at TMTA today is faces and I chose this lovely face I received from Outsider Artists. I love her soulful look.
I created my background using distress inks and a Tim Holtz mask, then stamped script over that.

Baby Tag

I'm always inspired by Martha Stewart packaging. This was a longer package, but I cut it down and saved the transparency that was on top. I added some gorgeous pink paper by Melissa Frances and this baby image from CollageVisions.
The crocheted flower was an RAK from Pam and is perfect here I think.

Sunday Postcard Art

Sunday Postcard Art's challenge this week is 4th of July. I had my stamps out still from yesterday's card, so I proceeded with the same song background but added this image of my mother from 1937. I believe it was some kind of school pageant or something, but I really like this photo.

Summer Haven Starts Today

Two weeks of stamping fun is starting today at Stamp Haven. You can check out what's going on there by clicking here.
This is the first card I've made for the many challenges they'll be running. Teresa posted a challenge to use a song as inspiration. I chose this stamp from Stampabilities with the words to
America the Beautiful on it. The soldier stamp is from Artistic Outpost.

More Mini Albums

Just a little peek at what I've been working on this week -- some new mini albums.
The last two are made from new October Afternoon papers I picked up this weekend at the
scrapbook store event. Fun papers!
The first one I made from DaisyD's Christmas papers.

Just to keep you guessing each week, this week I've just chosen a few random tags to share rather than a slide show. There were a lot of cool takes on the mask theme as I thought there would be.
I also have a little RAK to share. I bought some very neat ephemera on Etsy recently, a variety of dance tickets. Since there's more than I'll ever use I am sharing them with one participant from last week's challenge -- Sarah!
Sarah, I'll get those out to you ASAP.

TMTA -- Frogs

The theme today at TMTA is not boys, but frogs. But as this little nursery rhyme says, "that's what boys are made of." It's the first thing that popped into my head when I saw the challenge, and fortunately I did have this little frog stamp in my baby stamps. It's a little different, but it's a frog.
The image is by CollageVisions. Wording by Stampsmith. Frog by Studio G.

Sunday Stuff

The theme at Gothic Arches is Postcards. So I made one reflelcting one of my favorite cities.
I actually own a house in London and travel there frequently -- oh, but that's the London in Kentucky:) Actually, the London in England is one of the places I most want to visit!

For those that have been checking out my samples for the birthday celebration at the LSS, Craft Fancy, the day yesterday went very well. Had a lot of fun hanging on with these bloggers -- Michelle, Sarah, Martha, Marnie. And of course, one of the owners, Simone. Some very talented ladies!

Mini Journal/Photo Album

I'm getting hooked on these mini books. They seem to sell well on Etsy. too. This one is chipboard. I covered it with the last of some K&Co. paper that went back a ways -- but was some of my favorite.

Masked Tags

When I set the challenge for this week's tag at Tag Tuesday, I mentioned I had been playing around with some masks by Heidi Swapp and Tim Holtz. Here are a couple of the tags I made using them. I'll be doing a make-and-take with these at the LSS this Saturday for their anniversary celebration.

Encouragement Card

This card is made from some repurposed Martha Stewart cards I found at Big Lots. They have thank you written across the front in small print. But I loved the way the bottom was cut out and embossed. So I figured at $2 for 40 cards with matching envelopes I could easily find a way to cover the thank you and repurpose these cards. I had punched a bunch of these flowers previously, adding the button and stickles around the edges.
Today Jacqueline had a challenge on her blog to use this verse on an encouragement card for someone. Since I had the actual stamp from Art Impressions with these verse, I was able to stamp it right on my patterned paper. I make quite a lot of encouragement cards like this as our church has a card ministry and is always looking for handmade cards of this variety.

Graphic 45 Scrapbook Pages

Here are some samples I made for the Anniversary Celebration at Craft Fancy this weekend. I used those fabulous Graphic 45 papers I showed a few posts ago.

Tag Tuesday -- Challenge #5

Welcome to Challenge #5 at Tag Tuesday. Let me start by saying I spent all weekend making tags for our Local Stamp Store's anniversary event this weekend. I am going to be demo-ing masks by Tim Holtz and Heidi Swapp which are perfectly sized for tags.
Needless to say, I am using one of these as my challenge tags for today. The theme will be masks, but feel free to use masking in any number of ways, either a pre-made one, one you make on our own, or just masking an image you've stamped before you stamp over it.
Post a link to your tag here, so we can all come and see it.
Have fun creating!

Details on my tag: Background mask by Heidi Swapp. I used distress inks to stamp over the mask.

Definitions Sampler

I loved all of our "Definitions" (and friends) tags created this past week. We had sixteen in total.
Hope I didn't leave anyone out. If I did, please let me know.
The sampler for this week is below.

Gothic Arch Challenge

The Gothic Arch Challenge is back after a few weeks and the theme is "black and yellow." I cut out an image from a a '50's cookbook to use as my main image.
The cake border is a stamp from StampinUp.

New Graphic 45 Papers

I am totally in love with these new papers from Graphic 45. Are they not amazing?
This is a little sampling of the papers I'll be playing with to create some samples for the LSS's one-year anniversary celebration next Saturday, June 20th.
If you live in my area, you can check out the info here: http://craftfancy.com.

Yart Sale

I've already hit my fair share of yard and garage sales this season. If you are like me and love a bargain, you might want to check out Etsy this weekend. They are having their Yart sale. What's a Yart sale you might ask? Well, it's Yard + Art = Yart!

Many vendors, including myself, are participating.

Check it out: http://etsy.com/.
And since it's raining here again today, as it has most of this month, it's the perfect kind of yard sale-ing -- indoors!

Wednesday Stamper

The theme at Wednesday Stamper is "fashion" so I used these mannequin stamps from Lost Coast Designs and a paint sample to create my piece.

Three Muse Challenge

A new challenge blog has emerged -- I know this one will be fun just by their first theme: Alter Mona. I couldn't wait to see all the different interpretations on this one.

I had not made my calendar page for June yet, so I decided to give Mona a summertime look.

Mona stamp by Lost Coast Designs.

Tag Tuesday - Challenge #4

Nothing complicated about this tag, but I just thought that image was so, so sweet! It also contains the definition of friends which is our challenge for this week -- definitions, that is. Use any definition you'd like! I can't believe we'll beat the fabulous tags from last week -- but let's try!

Leave a link to your blog here so we can take a look at your tag.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We are entering our second month at Tag Tuesday. I'll be offering an RAK on a monthly basis from now on. You won't know which week it is until you show up on Tuesday and see! And it's not this week:)
Travel Tags
The winner of our travel challenge is PENNY!
Congrats, Penny! Send me your e-mail address and I'll get your RAK right to you.
ETA: It was a loooong week, and I forgot my own rule about having to have the tag done by Wednesday to be eligible for the RAK. Good thing I've got another ephemera pack all ready to go -- because another one is going to CHAR!
Char, same thing, get me your info.......
I am totally blown away by the gorgeous tags I saw this week for our "travel" theme. I also liked the way the theme was interpreted. You can see All the tags that were submitted below.
Just a "little" something I made yesterday during a very rain day.
