Gothic Arch Challenge

The theme this week is "Paris Exposition."  I used an image from Graphic Fairy.  My Eiffel Tower is a tad crooked, but it was five o'clock in the morning when I created this.
A fun theme this week.  You can see all the arches at http://gothicarches.blogspot.com/.

Chipboard Album

Another chipboard mini album I created using a boxful of goodies I found at Tuesday Morning.  It's all Cosmo Cricket and looks like it may have been part of a deal on the home shopping network.
I made it to sell in my Etsy shop, so there's no pictures of course.
This last page was a little scary where I added the journaling spot because I used my own handwriting to put the quote around the circle.  I was a little unsure about it, but my sister said it looked fabulous so there you go!

Tuesday Tag Challenge #40 -- Shamrocks

Don't know about you, but I'm working a little bit ahead on my holidays here.   Therefore, our theme for this week's challenge is Shamrocks.  If you don't have any shamrock stamps or paper, you can create a shamrock using a heart stamp (but you probably already knew that.)   It doesn't need to be green, your tag just needs to include a shamrock.
My tag:  I used an image from Collagevisions.  The dance ticket I placed in his hand I bought off Etsy.  My shamrock stamp is from Hampton Arts.  And I have Sarah to thank for the three clear pebbles I placed at the bottom.

"Cutsie" Tag Sampler

Seriously, I never read so many protestations as I did this week reading your comments and blog posts about doing cutsie....LOL.
With very few exceptions, mostly everyone felt the need to set us straight that they don't do cutsie:)  Oh, and that was including me.  Just thought it was kind of funny.
And yet you came up with so many cute tags this week!  And you did cutsie in many different ways.  Check out the sampler on my sidebar for this week.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I promised an "either/or" RAK this week.   Which means that you can choose from a) a large package of paper ephemera including the strangest variety you're likely to see in a long time.  Or b) a mystery package of "used" but "usable" stamps I'd like to pass on to a good home.
With that said, the RAK this week goes to deb(dcorder).
She made a really cute tag this week, check it out in the sampler.
Deb, e-mail me your address so I can get these out to you.
Saturday's Scrappy Cards
I was in a mood to create some scrappy cards using an image that was offered by Art Creations Friday a while back.  I didn't have a chance to create something with it at the time, but used up some papers and scraps that were cluttering up my work space to create these three scrappy kind of cards.
Wednesday Stamper
Tag Tuesday has kept me so busy I've not had time to participate in the Wednesday Stamper Challenge.  But this morning I found a little time to create something for this week's challenge of  "Carnival."
I found this stamp from the St. Nicholas collection (Oxford Impressions) would work quite well.
The gold square in the background I created using Mica Gloss paints and then scratching out the design free hand.  Not something I usually feel comfortable doing, but I think it came out well.
Tuesday Tag Challenge #39 -- Cutsie
Well, Faye doesn't know it, but she gave me the idea for this week's challenge.  A few weeks ago she commented that she doesn't do "custsie."  Neither do I.  So we have a challenge then!
Create a tag using any kind of cutsie images or stamps you desire.   Step out of your comfort zone.  You can even give your cutsie tag a vintage look if you need to:)  Let's see what you can do to make us fall in love with your cutsie creation!
For my tag I used stamps from StampinUp.  Not something I'd buy, but I got these free.  So I have to make sure they get inked up at least once.   I guess it is kind of cute -- if you like cutsie!
(A little enticement this week -- I've got an either/or RAK for one participant at the end of the week.  That's all I'm saying for now:)
Altered Love Poems Book
Being that it's Valentine's Day I thought I'd share an altered book I've been working on for a while (for the last year actually).  I found this Love Poems book at a thrift store and started altering some pages.  Just recently I've done some more, adding some personal photographs to it.
In the fourth photo I added a heart punched picture of my mom and dad.  In happier times.  They were eventually divorced.  But I wrote on the ticket for that page:  Just because a love doesn't last forever doesn't mean it never was or shouldn't be remembered.
Which will really help me as I scrapbook their courtship and wedding pictures.
Love Bird
I can see a lot of ways to use these chipboard bird shapes fron StampinUp.   I made a little Valentine's Day one, but I can see they'd make great Christmas ornaments, too.
One thing I'm not so impressed with is the Tim Holtz Distress Crackle Paint (Clear Rock Candy).  I've used it here and I just don't see that it leaves a very big impression.  Not the first time I've tried it and been less than impressed with it.
Tuesday Tag Challenge #38 -- Monogram
The idea for this week's challenge comes from a place of absolute need -- I needed a tag to embellish a scrapbook page.  I settled on one that included a chipboard letter and came upon this week's challenge.
So create a tag using a Monogram in any way, shape or form you like.
Here is the one I created using the letter "R" for my scrapbook page.
Have fun creating tags!
And if you don't receive a comment from me for a day or so, don't worry.  I may be stuck out of town due to the 12 inches of snow we are supposed to get.  I'll be checking out all the tags as soon as I can.
A "Touch of Red" Tag Sampler
Wow, we had a record number of participants in last week's challenge which was very exciting.  It also made it hard to pick this week's sampler.  So many great tags!  But I've posted it to my side bar, so take a look.  Look quick, you don't want to miss the "touches of red."
This little birdhouse I created was chosen as the challenge template in the Feb/March Stampers Sampler!
Tuesday Tag Challenge #37 -- A Touch of Red
Valentine's Day is quickly approaching, so I thought we'd create a tag this week that just has a "touch of red."     Use any color scheme you'd like and any theme you'd like, but then add just a bit of red to your tag.
When you've posted to your blog, leave a comment here with a link.   Once again, it's easier for everyone to come and see your tag if you leave a direct link to your tag.   At the bottom of my sidebar it shows how to do that.
Samples from last week's Time challenge are on my sidebar as well.  Really, really cool takes on that theme.
Please feel free to take the Tuesday Tag from my sidebar if you'd like to post it on your blog.
Have a fun week creating.  I usually post the sideshow Monday afternoons, so you have until then to post your "Touch of Red" tags.
