Tag Tuesday Challenge #45 -- Stuck on Collage

This week's  challenge really combines two ideas that have been floating around in my head:  One is to make a collaged tag.  The other is to use stickers.
I am sure all of us have some stickers stashed away somewhere. I know I have quite a bit -- I like my stickers.   So I've given myself permission to use them in this week's challenge:
Create a collaged tag using at least one sticker.
(For my tag I used an old 7 Gypsies package.   I ended up not covering up the tab because I thought it fit in with my collage.  My stickers include my compass, two postage stamps, heart, metal label as well as my measuring tapes.)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So glad to see so many participants last week.  I think it was a record number of participants.   Also glad to see not one single tag with a little bit of color added in -- everyone strictly adhered to the black and white only theme:):)
Mr. Linky seems to be a hit.  I'm thrilled that worked out.  If you have any problems with using it, just send me an e-mail, and I'll be happy to help out.
Tags -- Art Creations Friday
Yesterday Art Creations Friday offered a challenge using this background -- which I thought was quite lovely!  I managed to create some tags with it this morning using some gorgeous new images I downloaded from Digitial Collage Sheets.  I love stamping, but I can't help but admire these digital images, especially  considering how iffy the results of photostamping can be sometimes.
The background got lost on this one a bit.  But a few boo-boos required plan B to go into action.
Tag Tuesday Challenge #44 -- Black & White
I guess I probably don't need much explaining for this week's "Black & White" theme.  Except to say use ONLY black and white.  Not just mainly black and white.   Don't go sneaking any other bits of color in your tags:):)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This week I'm trying something new -- Mr. Linky!  This should allow us to come and see everyone's tags a bit easier.  Just put in your name and copy and paste your url.

Tag Tuesday -- Spring Sampler

I've posted a sampling of our spring tags to my sidebar.....check it out.   Totally had me in the mood for spring until we had a snowstorm this past Saturday and Sunday:(
Also, the winner of the chipboard package is Linda Henderson!
Thanks for playing along this week, Linda.  And please send me an e-mail with your address.

TMTA

The fun theme at Think Monday, Think ATC today (which is All In A Row) immediately made me think of this stamp from Crafty Secrets.
I also played with some of the new distress inks from Tim Holtz on this.  I absolutely love the new pink color called Victorian Velvet as well as Crushed Olive which is a green shade.
I used something much like Flower Soft for my branches but it's more of an earth elements type of thing.  Gave it a woodsy texture.  Smells quite interesting, too.
Haven't made an ATC in quite a while so it was fun to play along this week.

Botanical Cards

Last night while browsing around a book store, I found these botanical cards for $1.99.  I grabbed them as I knew I'd have lots of uses for them.  They are on glossy, sturdy cardstock.
When I woke up this morning -- it was snowing.  So it turned out to be a perfect morning to start altering some of these gorgeous botanic pieces.
I'm the tallest one in that photo above, along with my sister and cousin.

Once I got done playing with a few of the cards, I decided to have a go at the manual that came along with the cards and created this double-sided accordian book.
This is side one.

And this is side two.

Tag Tuesday Challenge #43 -- Spring!

Finally, we are heading into spring -- I can't imagine that there are any of us that aren't happy about that.  So let's celebrate the change of seasons this week and create any kind of tag that says "Spring" to you.
I've created my house-shaped chipboard tag (thank you, Barb) with a tulip-bearing boy stamp from Oxford Impressions.
****There will be an RAK of a large assortment of chipboard this week, so have fun creating spring tags!

Gothic Arch Challenge -- Wild & Wacky

Well this was a challenge indeed -- Wild & Wacky -- from the Gothic Arch challenge site.
I had fun with it though.  Used my palm tree stamp for her hair and a spoon stamp for the arms.  The feet are a set of quotation marks.  It's fun to look beyond your stamps and see what else they could be.
Looking forward to seeing the other wacky artwork at:  http://gothicarches.blogspot.com/

Tag Tuesday Challenge #42 -- Arches

Welcome to Tag Tuesday!
Today's challenge is to make a tag that includes an arch.   You can stamp an arch or create an arch or make your whole tag an arch.   Interpret the theme any way you'd like.
Leave a comment here with your link when you're done so we can all come and see your tag.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You can't tell from the photo, but my arch is popped out and the picture inside the arch is set back.  The arch stamp is from Invoke Arts and was black embossed.   I also included a metal embellishment which we had made on the cruise.  If you click on the picture and look closely you'll see what this man is remembering.  The background stamp on my tag is from Lost Coast Designs.
ETA:  The tag in the sampler labeled Michelle was actually created by Sharon.  Sorry about that, Sharon!
More DCWV Mariposa Cards
I was in a mood yesterday (think very dreary Sunday afternoon here in these parts) to play around some more with that gorgeous paper from DCWV,  Mariposa.
It's very busy and glittery (did I say gorgeous) but is somewhat challenging to work with.
I lived dangerously here:  My first card I made on white cardstock which I never do.  Ivory is the base for 99 percent of my cards.  The second and fourth card I made on colored cardstock -- once again, something I rarely do.  For card number three I used an old stamp that needed to be used again and then added some rub-ons (sentiment and border) which I really, really don't like using.  I think I'm scarred from too many bad experiences with bad rub-ons, although these went on pretty easily.  And my final card is something I don't think I have ever done before and that's make the front of my card with no border whatsoever.  The front shown here is the full size of the card.
That was my exciting Sunday.  Along with sleeping through the Oscars as I usually do.......
The New Take Ten
The new issue of Stampington's Take Ten is out -- and it certainly is new!  They've redesigned it and it has a very fresh look about it.  You can see that from the cover.  Inside they've got a greater variety of features which makes it a bit more interesting.
So much for that infomercial.....and on with some of my cards that were published in this issue:
These two pages highlighted stamping on text paper and how easily it can be done.  Hence, the heading fearless.   Not referring to me at all, but a way of saying that things often aren't as difficult as they seem.
A Swap for All Seasons
I've signed up to participate in Linda's seasonal swap.  This spring we will be creating Tussie Mussies and swapping them with our "partner."
Last night I had a chat to share a few details with Julie, my assigned partner.   One of the questions we answered in order to get to know our partner better was "What is your favorite flower?"   I answered "Prima."
Coincidentally, I think it is about to become my partner's new favorite as well as she was a big winner in their first round of give-aways.  Congrats, Julie!
Prima Marketing Give Away
Have to share this fabulous give-away that Prima Marketing is having.  They are giving away over $100 worth of their fabulous product.  In fact, they already did on March 1st and now are holding another chance for another lucky winner.  There's a big announcement coming from then soon, too.
Check it out here to see how you can win all the goodies shown above!
(I just want to dive right into that picture:)
Tuesday Tag Challenge #42
Today's tag challenge is to use one color most of us vintage crafters are familiar with, brown, PLUS ANOTHER COLOR!    Use whatever color you like to mix with brown to create your tag this week.
I've obviously chosen Brown & Red to create my tag.   Thanks to Suzanne for the beautiful red velvet ribbon I used at the top of my tag.  (Which of course was facing the wrong way when I scanned it!)
I've posted a little early this week, so you can get a head start tonight:)
Shamrock Tags Sampler...
...is up on my sidebar.  Really, such a lovely collection of tags this week.  Great variety of shamrocks, too.
Thanks everyone for playing along.
