Tag Tuesday Challenge #53 -- By Your Own Hand

Today's theme is something I've been contemplating for a while.   Then Pam suggested "doodling" when I asked for challenge ideas.  So here is my version of it -- create a tag on which you include something done in your own hand.
For my first tag I drew the dragonfly by hand, the dotted lines, as well as all the handwriting.  (Everybody hates to see their own handwriting, don't they?)   I've got to really work on getting over that.
On the second tag I drew in the stems and leaves of the flower, the word bloom, and the flower around the hole in my tag.
So this week let's see what you can "doodle" or draw in your own hand on your tag!

Now for important RAK news:  The random winner from last week's participants is Kris.  (Which I think is very appropriate since Kris joined in our very first challenge.)  Kris, I'll be sending you out an ephemera pack.
I'm also sending an RAK out to Pam who helped with this week's theme.  Thanks, Pam!

Glue Book Part 2

I was thrilled to see the enthusiasm expressed about these glue books.  So many of you commented you'd like to try these and it seems the idea is spreading like wildfire.
I showed a lot of my favorite pages last post but I wanted to show you the cover I made as well as a few of my other pages.
Here's the cover:

I had previously created the insert and had it matted with an ivory mat.  I decided after I had attached it to the cover that I would stamp the script squares and butterflies all around the mat.  I was a nervous wreck, because I thought for sure I'd ruin it.  Amazingly it came out just right and everything fit!
Here are some pages that show how I tried to fit my collage into the design of the book -- which as I said had very large flowers throughout:

And a couple more of my vintage image pages:

This last one was a super easy one, but I was just so glad to find a place to put this collage sizing wheel which I never use!

Glue Book

I could do this for hours.  Okay, I did.   Yesterday.  Four hours to be exact.
I first heard of a "glue book" when Sarah shared a page of hers.  She got the idea from Mary of Green Paper.
I found this flower filled book at a thrift shop and thought I could use the pages for ephemera or alter it somehow.  Since the pages really need to be toned down a bit, I thought it might work perfectly for this glue book.   Which consists really of gluing collaged paper to the pages -- no stamps, no ink, no embellishments.  As most of you taggers from Tag Tuesday know, I'm drowning in ephemera (giving it away as Tag Tuesday RAK's), so this was a fabulous way for me to combine the vintage images which I love and use up some of the piles of ephemera I have.
I decided not to over think this and just did it rather quickly, adding images, ephemera however I felt led.  I had some previously stamped work laying around, so I used that on some pages too.  And I was thrilled with it.  It was so relaxing.....as I said I worked on it for hours.   I finished the book, too.  About 32 pages in all  These are some of my faves..

ATC Notecards

I unearthed these ATC background stamps from Tim Holtz to make some mini notecards.   They've been unused for too long.  I added some images from CollageVisions and DigitalCollageSheets.

Happy Birthday Tag Tuesday -- Challenge #52

Yes, it's one year of challenges at Tag Tuesday. I can't believe it!  And we've not skipped a week, not even when I went on the art cruise last fall (when we had some fabulous guest hosts.)  Our numbers have grown -- although last week's theme of "home inspiration" for some reason was not very popular...lol.  I was looking back at the very first challenge and saw that Jacqueline, Sarah, Kris, Lynn & Evelyn joined in that first week and have remained regular and steady participants.  We've picked up a lot more along the way as well.  Thanks to everyone who has made this such a fun year.
I asked a few weeks ago for ideas for this week's theme and received some great responses.  I chose Lori's idea of using the numbers 5 & 2 in commemoration of our 52 week anniversary.   So the challenge for this week is to use the numbers 5 and 2 or just 5 or just 2 in any way you'd like on your tag.  Or include two things on your tag or five.  You can interpret it however you'd like.
Lori, e-mail e with your info so I can send your fabulous ephemera RAK along.
FYI, I intend to continue to choose some of your ideas for themes in the next few weeks, so more RAK's will be coming your way.  As well, I will choose one participant this week to receive an ephemera RAK, too!
So here is my tag for this week, celebrating the number 52 (which also is my age:)  I stamped the numbers 52 on my background.  Since I did them upside down and right side up it's a little hard to see on the tag.  I also stamped the numbers 52 on my circle tag at the bottom.

Looking forward to seeing more of your great tags this week!

Tag Tuesday News

This Tuesday is Tag Tuesday's first anniversary celebration as I mentioned a few posts back.  I've been working on this week's tag.  I selected a theme from the many that were suggested and you'll find out what it is on Tuesday.  That person who suggested the theme is going to win an RAK ephemera pack.  Plus I'll be giving another one away to a random participant, so please check back on Tuesday and join in the weekly challenge.
As I was working on my tag I got a little distracted and ended up making this Tag Tuesday matchbox.  I downloaded some tiny copies of  a few of my favorite tags from this past year to enclose in it.  A kind of cute reminder of the first year.
See ya on Tuesday!

Tag Tuesday Challenge #51 -- Inspiration from Home

This week's challenge at Tag Tuesday is to create a tag which uses something in your home as your inspiration piece.   I used the wall hanging below to create my tag for this week.  I apologize for the crummy picture, but I got this idea last evening after the natural light was gone.
It's not necessary to share what in your home inspired you when you post your tag, but it would be more fun if you did!

Mini Chipboard Album for Mom's Day

I've been cranking out these mini albums building up inventory for this fall's round of craft fairs.  This one has a Mom theme, so I thought I'd share it as Mother's Day approaches.

Tag Tuesday Challenge #50 -- That's the Ticket

This week's challenge is to use a ticket of some sort on your tag -- or make your whole tag a ticket if you'd like.
I've been considering this theme for a while and then Sarah suggested it last week when I requested ideas for future challenge.  So thanks, Sarah.   Some special goodies are coming your way.
 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
For my tag I used distress inks on the background.  I then used stamps by Lost Coast Designs (background), Oxford Impressions (balloon) and Invoke Arts (ticket).
Gothic Arch Challenge
Today's challenge at Gothic Arches is "Mona Lisa."  And since I have a stamp of Mona in an arch I could hardly pass it up.  I gave her a funky hat and some pearls though.  And placed her on an alcohol ink arch background which has a nice glimmer to it but doesn't quite show up in the scanned picture.
Stamp by Lost Cost Designs.
