Make a Moo

This is my first time making a "Moo." Nellie has started a new site for Moo challenges. You can find out more about them here. Although I've made many inchies -- and this is more than double that size -- it turned out to be an interesting template and definitely a challenge for my first time, so I stopped at one (for this time!) The theme this week was romance.

Stencil and Stamp

After a horribly long day at work and busy evening I realized I had not made one single thing for Winterstamp and refused to go to bed until I did so! The stencil and stamp challenge caught my attention. I don't have any stencils, but I created one by punching four hearts on a strip of paper . I stamped over my template with French Script (Hero Arts). I then added red distress ink directly over the punched hearts.
I now had a positive and negative stencil to make a card.
For the card below I backed my template with a strip of Cuttlebug embossed black cardstock. I had swiped white ink across the raised part which gave it a nice effect. The sentiment on this card is from Studio G. Background paper is by Creative Imaginations. This card below is the result of my stencil. I added a sentiment by Hero Arts. I also stamped the French Script with white ink onto black cardstock in order to make my background paper.

I just received the newest issue of CardMaker magazine which published four of my cards for spring -- three for Easter and one for St. Patrick's Day. I was really pleased with the way they were photographed -- made my cards look even better!

More Winterstamp Challenges

Here's another fun challenge -- well, actually, two -- that I participated in at Two Peas Winterstamp. This card combines the Make It Move and Stretch a Stamp challenge.
The inside of the card below will show you the actual size of my giraffe. You can see how I "stretched" the stamp to make the image longer. I created a window by punching four squares with a 1x1 punch and then adding a little ledge. I made a slit in the card behind the bottom left window so the giraffe can "move" up and down. This is what the inside of the card says:

Other stamps used: Northwoods (flower pot); Inkadinkado (stitched border).

ATC Valentines

I've had these little vintage valentines stickers for quite a while -- don't even know who made them. I created a couple ATC's from them. For the one above I applied distress ink directly to my paper and then used a crackle stamp (PSX) to create the background. Other stamps are by Inkadinado (months) and Limited Edition (ruler).

This one I made as a challenge for Stamping D'Amour to create a cut-out ATC. I used my same type of sticker and created a cut-out heart. The inside contains a Two Hugs and a Kiss (PSX) sentiment and lips (Studio G) stamped in white ink.

Vintage Valentine

I created this vintage valentine for one of the challenges at Winterstamp this weekend. I used Basic Grey paper, staming my hanging flowers (Studio G) in the background. I addded an image from Crafty Individuals, some dolllar store ribbon and flowers. The ribbon slide was created with my Cuttlebug. I then stamped a heart from Rhonna Farrer and the sentiment from StampinUp on that. Yes, I know that lace heart is gorgeous. My friend Sarah gave that to me from her trip to Germany.

Gothic Arch Challenge

This week Gothic Arches is celebrating, among other things, the color purple. I made a little pocket arch starting with some handmade purple papers I had. I used a friend definition stamp by Hero Arts and an image by Crafty Individuals to slip into the pockets. The sentiment at the bottom is by Studio G.

Winterstamp

I made a bunch of cards at Winterstamp over at Two Peas yesterday. I'll show them during the week. But I want to show you this one first because I had such fun making it. Sandy's challenge was to use one of your stamps in an unusual way to create a spring card. I chose to make an Easter card. Here is the stamp I chose to use:

The palm tree stamp is by Inkadinkado. The woman's profile is by Art Impressions. I just drew the base of the hat in by hand with a blender pen and the Brilliance ink I used for the palm tree. The sentiment I printed off the computer.

Time for Love

Well, here is my final sample for Winterstamp and my male Valentine challenge. This card came about as I was making the clock for my office which I showed here. I wanted to use black hands for the clock, so was left with these gold ones. I thought it would be cute to make a card with a heart and these hands for a clock. I stamped some flourishes from Autumn Leaves on my heart and inked the edges of it so it would stand out more against this Seven Gypsies paper. I then used a chip from a countertop sample I got at the hardware store and I stamped this Love definition from PSX on it. The sentiment was computer generated.

Light My Fire

Tomorrow is the first day of Winterstamp over at Two Peas in a Bucket. As I've said before, I'm hosting a challenge to create Valentines for the men in our life -- husbands, boyfriends, fathers, sons, brothers, etc. This card is obviously for the first of those categories:).

To create this card I applied Distress Ink (Mustard Seed and Spiced Marmalade)directly onto my card and also onto the square chipboard. The flourishes are by Autumn Leaves. The heart stamp is by Studio G/Hampton Arts. I stamped that twice with black ink, once on light brown cardstock and once on darker brown cardstock. I then cut them out, cut them in half, and placed the top of one with the bottom of the other. I used a couple different alphabet stamps to create my sentiment.
