Tuesday Twinchies

I am hosting a challenge at Stampin D'Amour to create twinchies. These are two samples I made for that challenge.

I made both of them on alcohol ink backgrounds.

The first one includes stamps from Paperbag Studios and Hampton Arts.

The secon includes stamps from Magenta and Studio G.

ATC's

This is an ATC for a challenge posted at the StampinD'Amour site a few weeks ago whose theme was Paris in pink and black.

And, finally, my contribution to a swap that I'm hosting at CardMaker Magazine.

Shadowbox ATC's

A challenge from the Stampin D'Amour site this week was to create an ATC with a shadowbox (or frame). I loved this idea from the start. Here are two that I created, using my little birdcage stamps from Prima to create a raised from for my images.

The boy and girl are actually a stamp from Stampsmith. I've also used stamps by Tim Holtz to create the backgrounds on each one.

Wow, was I ever happy to receive my sheet of ATC's from the Stampin D'Amour swap! Each and every one of them was fabulous!

Gothic Arch

The Gothic Arch challenge blog is taking a little R&R this week. But Kris from Nostalgic Collage posted a challenge over at Stampin D'Amour and it called for a gothic arch with a theme of English Victorian gardens. Whew! Talk about a challenge! I really strugged with this one. The other requirements were pastel colors, use two stamps, and one embellishment. I used stamps from Prima -- the flower border and bird house.

Naked Stamping

I created this Father's Day card for Pam's challenge (over at StampinD'Amour) to do "naked stamping." Which, of course, means to use nothing but stamps, ink and paper. No embellishments of any sort. I like that, getting back to basic stamping. I created my background paper (no patterned papers allowed) with various key stamps and a postmark stamp. I stamped my male image from Rubber City River Works on red cardstock and then masked him and stamped the manuscript text over that. The sentiment is from Hero Arts.

Happy Mother's Day

This card and sketch is a challenge I am posting for the Stampin D'Amour site. Actually, I did very little stamping on this one, just a background stamp I used to frame my image. Otherwise I just used scraps of paper I had at my fingertips. The sentiment and circle tag is from K&Co.

My Mother's Day is starting out well. Although my son has not returned home from school yet, he sent me an e-mail which was in my mailbox when I got up this morning. He has invited me out to dinner when he returns -- and he set a date! He has never taken me out for dinner before so I am very touched and excited at this invitation.

I also will be going later this morning to a stamp class at my local stamp store where we will have brunch and mimosas along with some cardmaking. How fun does that sound?

Remember Mother's Day

What started out as a tag for a challenge at Stampin D'Amour (bottom picture) turned into a Mother's Day card.



The tag itself, the background papers and the monogram are from K&Co.
The female image is from Art By Moonlight. The sentiment on the top card is from Art Impressions.
The little hanger I found at a local gift store. Someone inquired about them, and I know I've seen them on-line -- just can't remember where.

Thank God It's Friday

One more post for today and then that's absolutely it! LOL I've had lots to share, and I just saw the theme for Thank God It's Friday. I made this card this week for a group submission at StampinD'Amour and I thought I'd post it for their theme of blue-green although the TGIF theme may have been more blue and green rather than the shade of blue green I had in mind when I created this.

I did stamp on cloth for the cream background (Stampin' Up). The couple (Stampington) was stamped on parchment paper that had been inked with blue and green distress inks. The butterfly (PSX) was stamped on blue-green paper and then glitter was added to it.

More House Art

A few days back I showed some House Art I made. I've been really enjoying this, so I decided to post this as a challenge on the Stampin D'Amour site. Here are two more I made to inspire anyone wanting to take up this challenge -- using anything you'd like, just create in the shape of a house. Link back and let us know what you've created!

Picture #2: Magenta, Technique Tuesday

I created this card for my sister's birthday -- she loves purple.

The purple background I created using the technique on Tim Holtz' site where you mix alcohol ink (from your reinkers) with Perfect Pearls and a small amount of water in a spray bottle. I used purple for both of them. You spray directly onto your paper. Gives a very neat shimmery effect. I then used a hanging flower stamp from Studio G and stamped that in gold Brilliance ink. I then added purple color to the flowers with chalk inks. I am in love with Brilliance ink these days and just ordered about six new colors from Frugalities.com. I used Purple Pearlescent to stamp my main image (Art by Moonlight). The strip of paper lace along the side was also colored by applying that ink directly to the lace.
So, this card has a wonderful shimmer to it -- and, of course, it's not really apparent in the picture.

Destiny

I made this card for a challenge at Stampin D'Amour. I set the challenge and it was to use a frame of some sort and also to include some gold. So I gold embossed this frame (don't know who makes the stamp, it's an old one). I also added some gold tape at the top. The image is by Paperbag Studios.

This is a variation of a card I made for a challenge over at Stampin D'Amour. I've used a stamp by Stampland called Alice Reading. The background harlequin stamp is a Studio G stamp. The open book is from See-D's.

Inspiration Project

Here's a little tin I altered for last month's Inspiration Project at StampinD'Amour. I thought it would be a wonderful "care package" for someone who needed a lift -- filled with tea bags and cookies perhaps.

Tags

A couple tags I made for a challenge through

Stampin D'Amour which called for a tag or ATC using at least three stamps and three inks but no embellishments except possibly some ribbon at the top.

For this first one I used aflourish stamp from See-D's, the Eiffel Tower from Inkadinkado, and the female image is from Art by Moonlight.

The second one has the children on a swing image from Stampington, flourishes again from See-D's, and the sentiment is from My Sentiments Exactly.

Challenges

Three different challenges the past couple weeks from Stampin D'Amour

I couldn't pass up this challenge for a card with a Can-Can dancer seeing as I had this great stamp from Inkadinkado (which I really don't have that many opportunities to use). To create the background for the stamp I swiped distress inks on cardstock. There's a couple of personal details on this card -- can you spot them? You'd probably have to click on the card.

Another challenge, this one calling for inchies again (that one was my idea!). I used these great inchie stamps from Queens Dresser Drawers for this one, stamping them on some bright background paper. The "remember" is part of a stamp from Rubber Stampede. The chipboard book label is from Heidi Swapp.

This last one is a "scary cat" challenge. I stamped my cat and moon on a background I created with alcohol inks. I then layered that on some background paper from Basic Grey (Mellow).

Chipboard Composition Book

Wanted to share this "Inspiration Project" I completed for Stampin D'Amour this month. I created this "organizer" from a 7 Gypsies chipboard composition book. Most of the background papers are from 7 Gypsies as well. All the office stickers are from Crafty Secrets.

Halloween ATC Album

I wish I could show this in one picture, but it just would not work. This is two halves of one long ATC album I made. Each page features a Halloween ATC and then a letter to spell out S-P-O-O-K-Y. Click on it to get a much better picture.

I made this as an inspiration project for Stampin D'Amour.

Challenges

Both of these card were made for various challenges held over at Stampin D'Amour. They have about two challenges a week over there all featuring vintage or shabby chic style cards.
This first challenge was to feature the color red which I did with my card. This card uses images from Crafty Secrets and papers from Basic Grey. This card was for a lighthouse challenge and I used a lighthouse stamp I really like from Stampendous. The ephemera is from Hot off the Press. Don't remember where the background paper is from.
