This Memorial Day weekend I want to remember my Uncle John, a Marine who died during World War II, at Iwo Jima. He was only 21 years old, with no wife or children. It's up to his nieces and nephews to remember that he gave his life for his country.
When I was in Washington D.C. this spring I visited the Marine Corp Memorial near Arlington National Cemetery. It was one of the most moving parts of my trip.
The quote on my card was engraved on the side of the memorial. I created that on the computer. I copied the photo of him onto vellum.

Thanks Louise. It is a nice sentiment. We are all lucky to have relatives and friends who paid so dearly for us. Sis.
