Well, I'm breathing a sigh of relief now that the Father's Day and male birthday cards are done. Expect to see a lot of pink and flowers this week! It's so hard to make masculine cards -- well, maybe it's not that it's hard. It's just more fun to make feminine cards.
I've been seeing cards using some new stamps from StampinUp. The petal one (can't recall what it's called) in particular got me to thinking. Surely I didn't need a whole set of stamps just to make a flower, petal by petal. Then I remembered this Christian fish stamp I had from Art Impressions. Perfect!
I picked out some beautiful paper by Christine Adolph and stamped my fish in Brilliance's Crimson Copper ink. I cut out the fish, cutting off the tail, and I had a petal. I couldn't be happier with the way it turned out, and it put a much unused stamp to work.
The sentiment is by PaperTrey, Inc. This is the first set I have bought of theirs, just got it last week. I really resisted these stamps for a long time, but then just decided I had to have their sentiments set. I really have to admit, they are great acrylic stamps. Quality in every way.

(And on a side note, the PT stamps really are great! I had read somewhere that they are polycrylic, whereas most others on the market are vinyl. I don't know if that's precisely correct, but I do know that I get a wonderful impression with them!)
