Memorial Day Greetings

The good looking young man in the center of this photo is my Uncle John (mother's brother). I never met him because he died serving our country in the second World War when he was 21 years old. He gave his life at Iwo Jima serving in the Marines and, sadly, was killed after the war had officially ended. He left no wife or children behind to remember him, so it seems appropriate that his nieces and nephews do so
-- especially on this day.

My heart goes out to your family Louise...
Thank goodness for the photo.... sometimes that is all we have of those we wish we knew better, or those we wish we could have met!

Happy Memorial Day - in all it's forms...

Hi Louise!

This is a nice tribute to your Uncle. I was very fortunate both my Grandfather and Dad served in WWII and both made it out alive.

Cheers to your Uncle and all the other soldiers out there!
