You know I'm gonna need some new clothes for my cruise, so I checked out some offerings from the Sears Catalog circa 1950's.
Surprised to see that despite statistics, we have gotten smaller in size, not larger. There were no size 2s, 4s, 6s or 8s back then. Standard women's sizing began at size 10! And what happened to all the half-people? If you are old enough to remember half-sizes, you'll know what I mean.
Gotta love these shorts. I'll probably need a couple pair. And they are guaranteed to not shrink over 1 percent!
When did they stop "Sanforizing" jeans? And how come we don't get our choice of weights anymore? There's a twenty cent difference between the six ounce and eight ounce jeans.
Seems like the perfect deck wear, don't you think?
But I think I'll get the biggest bang for my buck with this complete ensemble for $8.98!I'll have to see if this comes in half sizes.....

Half sizes ... wow, I DO remember those! I think we do indeed need to get our cruisewear from your catalog - we'd be so spiffy! ;o) You have a wonderful find in that catalog. TFS!
Oooh, you will look smashing in your new outfits! I found a Sears catalog from the 70s and have been meaning to post scans of it. The clothes weren't half as cute as these - very big into polyester and body suits back then, lol!
YIkes , am dating myself -- but my fav time was when Petites came into style -- so tired of hemming -especially as my Mom didn't sew -- Thank goodness for a class at school - called _ HOme -ec- we learned to sew and cook (altho Mom was a good cook and Dad even better . - You willl be loverly in these fashions -- Have a great weekend -been on vacation , just trying to catch up . Shades of the past!!! I know that the size labels are getting smaller. I'm one person who hangs onto favorite clothes, like forever. Lately I can get into sizes that I used to wear several pounds heavier
