Altered Love Poems Book

Being that it's Valentine's Day I thought I'd share an altered book I've been working on for a while (for the last year actually).  I found this Love Poems book at a thrift store and started altering some pages.  Just recently I've done some more, adding some personal photographs to it.
In the fourth photo I added a heart punched picture of my mom and dad.  In happier times.  They were eventually divorced.  But I wrote on the ticket for that page:  Just because a love doesn't last forever doesn't mean it never was or shouldn't be remembered.
Which will really help me as I scrapbook their courtship and wedding pictures.

I love looking at altered books. You are creating such a beautiful keepsake. Hope you have it completed by fall so I can see the whole thing IRL.

Your pages are so special, Louise! I agree - divorce happens; but the happy times in years past still happened and should have a place in our memories! Lovely book!

Louise!

Darling book! Love what you did on the cover! So happy that you are enjoying scrapping your family memories ...

Remember Family is like a tapestry, the back of it messy with threads overlapping in different colors and textures but the front is a work of art!

Great look for your altered book, Louise! What a great title you found to use. I love playing around with various techniques, but haven't yet developed a book around a specific theme. Yours is coming along really well - have fun with it!

I am always drawn to the colors you use and now I see a white layer over your pictures which increases the vintage look. What a beautiful keepsake!
