Tile Magnets

While cleaning out the basement I discovered a box of leftover floor tiles.  Grouped together I never realized there were some heart shaped tiles in the pattern.  So I took out the heart shaped ones and then pondered what I could create with them.  I decided to make these little collage magnets.  Fun!  Love finding junk in the basement that can be altered.
I stamped on the tiles with Staz-On and then coated each tile when it was completed with Glossy Accents or Matte Accents, which also helped the embellishments hold.  I even found (after seriously burning my thumb trying to attach the magnet pieces to the back and then having them pull off easily) that the Glossy Accents was the best thing to hold the magnet to the tile as well.

Adorable and they would make fantastic stocking filler. I have Christmas in the brain as I made a start on Christmas cards this week. Lynne x

These are gorgeous, Louise! Wish I had a basement, LOL!! Love the collage, the background, and the tip about using Glossy Accents - who knew it could be so strong!?!

love these tiles so pretty. I know there are boxes of tiles under my house but they are just plain square ones nothing as fancy as yours!

I collect hearts so I wish I had a basement that I found something like this in, no such luck LOL. I absolutely love them, and what a fantastic find. Tracy Evans x

Hi Louise,
Oh my gosh, I just made magnets last night for next week's drawing on my blog..we must think alike..lol
Yours are gorgeous--I love them!
I also made another tag for your "Not on Paper" challenge which I will post and link up later today.
That challenge really inspired me to create a whole series for an art exhibition. I'll come back and link up when I have it posted.
Hugs,
Cindy

P.S. I had such trouble getting my magnets to stick on the back that I had to add cheese cloth so I could glue it down with a hot glue gun and then adhere the magnet with hot glue to that...those magnets are stubborn..lol

Just love these hearts. What a great find, how fab. Never seen anything like there over here (although to be fair, maybe I should say I've never looked!) They would, as the others say, make fab gifts.

So fabulous, Louise! Those tiles are really an excellent find and I love how you've art-ed them up! Might these find their way to your Etsy store? I'm thinking I'd love one to hold up my grocery list on the fridge!
bless you!

I'm still struggling a bit with my Tag Tuesday mojo, hoping it returns at some point.

Ohhhhh, these are so cute! I'm with Lynne in that they'd be GREAT stocking stuffers.

Hope you have some aloe gel (or a leaf from the plant) as it works great on burns to heal your sore thumb:( Take it from someone who's been there and done that...ouch.

Those are great!!! I guess I should rummage around in the basement. I would really be surprised because it's stuff left behind by the previous owner...LOL...
