My Three Hour Tag

Wow, Tim's 12 Tags of Christmas really started up with a bang!  I can so appreciate those of you who commented yesterday that they didn't think they'd have much time to play along with his Christmas tag fun.  I wouldn't have even attempted this one -- except I woke up at three in the morning.  So by the time six o'clock rolled around, I was just waiting for enough light outside to take a picture.

As you can see, mine is substantially different than Tim's.  Didn't have the house or fence die, so I created those on my own.  With my tree I went in a totally different direction, using corrugated cardboard and then white embossing it for a snow effect.  Speaking of snow, I had none of the stuff he used, so I opted for flower soft.  I added a little garland to my fence, too, which I quite liked.
Actually, I like the way my tag turned out, even though it I had to venture out of the Tim Zone for quite a bit of it.
Best little gimmick of his from this tag:  Love using the bit of cotton from a cotton swab for the chimney smoke!

Louise!
Oh my gosh.. when I saw this in my reader I thought 'when the HECK did she have time'??? 3am??? I did that yesterday:)

Such a great tag! I don't have the items either and will be creating my own as well!!!

Way to go!!!!!!! And it's 6:28am here and dark, dark, dark, dark!

This is amazing. I haven't seen Tim's tag yet, but who cares - this one is great. All the little details, and all the STUFF on one tag. Who cares how many Tim items you have when you can turn out something like this! Ingenuity and imagination are what counts. Hooray for 3am!

Wow! Louise, this is awesome!! Can't believe you were up at 3am! Insomnia or Christmas Tag excitement?? Too funny - this tag is fabulous, love your tree and love the fence garland touch. Cheers!

I love it! And it's all about interpreting it your own way - fortunately, because I don't have much of the right stuff for this one either! not sure what I will be doing yet (mind you I am still at work!) Yours is the first one I've seen- well done you!!

LOVE your version! Yep, I'll have to get creative also, as I don't have either of the dies. Really love the way your house turned out!

Great tag. So glad to seem that someone other than myself works on things @ 3 in the morning.

Well done! I can't believe you spent 3 hours on a tag, though! ;) I like all the little touches you added - like the garland.

It's gorgeous, Louise! Your improvisations are wonderful. I think it actually makes it more fun, once you get over being a bit "stuck", LOL! TFS :)

Is it ok to say I like your tag better than Tim's?? LOL. I love that you got the same look without the die.

I agree with Pam....I can't believe you spent 3 hours on a tag! It turned out beautifully and I love that garland on your fence. I find it too frustrating to even try to do Tim's tags without having all the "stuff" and I'm not very good at improvising, so I applaud your efforts here Louise!!!

I really like the way you used what you had and rolled with it as it went along. Good for you!

Your tag is awesome and you proved to me anyway, that one does not have to have every single Tim goodie and we can still make great art! I was feeling very jealous about that Vagabond die cutter until I saw the price - Oh my gosh...will just have to make do with my Sizzix original die cutter LOL
Thanks for sharing and giving me lots of ideas, die free :D
