Scatter Joy

This card was made after a lovely weekend trip with DH. He suggested we go somewhere overnight, somewhere I could find a stamp shop possibly. No problem, I quickly charted our course.

There's a little story about the stamp store. They have about 15,000 stamps. Not one was on sale. And, even worse than that, in my opinion, were the Michael's wood mounted $1 stamps they had marked at $5.99. Well, I did not feel inclined to buy much, but I absolutely had to have this stamp from Inkadinkado the minute I saw it.

Isn't this the most beautiful stamp? This is the kind of stamp I want to put on display when I buy it. I wouldn't want to buy it unmounted either because the wood and the image on the front are just gorgeous.

I made the card using colors I would not ordinarily use -- meaning gray. But the bird's nest was stamped on white cardstock with Ancient Page's Flannel Gray ink, so it seemed a good complement. When you put good rubber (such as this stamp from Inkadinkado) to good paper (I love StampinUp's cardstock best) with good ink (this Ancient Page came right off my stamp onto the paper with practically no residue left on the stamp) you get a great image. I colored my nest in with colored pencils and then cut it out to attach to my card. The corners and the sentiment are by Inkadinkado as well.
