Stamped Note Cards

I received some new stamps this week and had it in my mind that they would make lovely note cards to give as a set or individually. I decided I wanted to make them using only stamps and minimal embellishments, NO printed paper. It took a bit of playing around to see which stamps worked best with which paper and ink.

I stamped this one on glossy ivory cardstock and used Brilliance Pearlescent Lavender ink. Just let the ink dry, no embossing needed. I love that Brilliance ink. I slit each side of the label with my craft knife so I could run the ribbon behind it and make a bow on the side.

This is very glossy paper, not cardstock. I used Brilliance Moonlight White ink and just let it dry. I have never seen a white ink before that shows up so well. I added the bird which I had stamped on plain ivory cardstock with Brilliance Pearlescent Sky Blue and cut out. I added small drops of Liquid pearls to the corners and around the flourishes.

These stamps are made by Sugarloaf Products which is now known as Inque Botique. They are called See D's. The stamps are unmounted, but not clear. Although they call for stamping on a mouse pad or other soft surface because they are not cushioned, I found this no problem. They come in their own storage CD case (must be why they are called See D's). They stick very well to the glossy sheet that is included for that purpose. It was the first time I have ever purchased any stamps from Sugarloaf and I was very happy with them. Best yet, I found these at a site everyone has been talking about lately, Frugalities, for 49 percent off. They really were ridiculously inexpensive. I ordered three more sets after I saw how pleased I was with these. I had no problems with Frugalities either, although their discounts change daily so when I went back to reorder I only received 42 percent off.
