Inspired by Tim -- Day 3

Boy, Tim sure makes it look easy. His instructions for this plaid background looked easy enough. But this tag is about the 8th one I attempted... and that I liked well enough to stamp on. At first I was going the wrong way with the applicator and alcohol inks and everything was smooshed together. When I finally figured that out, I had some really, really ugly color schemes. I finally settled on this one, but by that time I wasn't up to much else, so my stamping is pretty simple. Didn't think the twine would look to good on this one, so I went with the gold cord instead.
Here's my lightbulb moment of the day: Yesterday we used radiant pearls and water to flick gold spots on our tag. Couldn't find them today -- even though I just used them yesterday and know they are still somewhere on my craft table. But necessity being the mother of invention, I discovered that a Krylon pen will give the same effect. I simply pooled some on my work surface and picked it up with a paintbrush and flicked it just like Tim showed. I actually got better coverage (but don't tell Tim that:)

I love this color combination and the stamps you used are perfect. I knew that I would mess mine up if I tried too many colors - I am just not good at knowing what to combine! Also....shhh, don't tell...I used regular alcohol instead of blending solution and it worked perfectly for the white bit.

Can't wait to see tomorrow's. Hope I have time to get it done!

Louise, this tag is wonderful! Definitely worth sticking to it :) And I was ROFL when you said you "lost" your supplies on your craft table... happens to me ALL. THE. TIME.! Glad to hear I'm not alone. Have a great evening!

love your plaid pattern and colors...those little star brads on the tree tops are a really special touch....beautiful tag. I tried the plaid too, my colors turned out a bit darker...I'm looking forward to tomorrow's tag.
btw-I'm always losing things on my work table in the midst of creative storms.

Love the tip for the Krylon pen. We all have to use other ways of creating a technique sometimes, we can't have every item on the market, although we would like it!!!! The tags are brilliant!!!! Oh and thanks for the lovely comment on my advent calendar, it's appreciated. x

Love your tag Louise. Hey, it sounds like you suffer from the same disease I have . . . artzheimer's. Have you read the definition on my blog on the right side bar? Yep, I think you are suffering from the disease *sigh*
