Just about the only thing I DID have for today's tag over at Tim's 12 Tags of Christmas was -- as I mentioned a few posts earlier -- the vintage images. No chipboard reindeer (or any Christmas chipboard really), no brad maker.
But I did have this chipboard skate -- and I knew I had a vintage Christmas card with a skating santa. How cute is he? So I went that route with my tag today.
I did use the distress-ink-on-the-craft-sheet-and-then-misting-it technique for my background as well as stamping the background with a flourish and snowflake stamps. I had flowers I could have used, but I liked the idea of these paper snowflakes better.
To create my brads I punched my vintage images and then used -- guess what? A Krylon pen, again, to outline the edges to create the rims.

Beautiful tag, Louise - I like it MORE than Tim's!! The skating Santa with the chipboard skate is adorable!
Fabulous tag Louise!
I think Krylon better hire you as a consultant. You are so full of ideas! Lovely tag.
This is a super rendition of today's tag, Louise! Those flowers with the Krylon "brads" are so cute! And the chipboard skate with the vintage Santa - way cool!
Awesome way to substitute! Very creative. Looks great!
Louise, I love the colors you used for these tags you created.
That's what it's all about, doing our own thing, well I think it is. Think how boring it would be if every tag was a duplicate of Tim's. Surely no one has everything he has used so far.................Do they?????? lol x
I'm so impressed with your snowflakes! Wow!
Fantastic tag. Loving it. I have managed to get to tag 9 today on my catch up. Not on my blog yet as I thought I would photograph them in the morning when the light is better. Had a great time though!
Another beautiful tag!
Yours came out so good!! I checked it out first thing this morning. I wish I'd had as much success. I think yours is perfect because the skate doesn't compete with the images. I think the snowflakes are brilliant too!
Your tag is really charming! I love the skating Santa, he is just adorable and it's great how you incorporated him and the other images in the Tim inspired design.
Hi there, I love your rendition of T!m's tag. I too lack a lot of supplies but I managed to have foil tape and some grungeboard letters and did a tag for a Christmas card. I think just getting us inspired to do what we have with what we got is the main thing.
Take care and keep creating
Looks great, Louise! I found an i-Top with 40% off at Michael's today but it isn't cooperating with me at the moment!
I really like that red skate! Bet you didn't think you would be able to use so many of your little vintage snippets...good thing you had them.
this is just darling Louise! I love it! :) hope you are enjoying the holiday season!
