I could do this for hours. Okay, I did. Yesterday. Four hours to be exact.
I first heard of a "glue book" when Sarah shared a page of hers. She got the idea from Mary of Green Paper.
I found this flower filled book at a thrift shop and thought I could use the pages for ephemera or alter it somehow. Since the pages really need to be toned down a bit, I thought it might work perfectly for this glue book. Which consists really of gluing collaged paper to the pages -- no stamps, no ink, no embellishments. As most of you taggers from Tag Tuesday know, I'm drowning in ephemera (giving it away as Tag Tuesday RAK's), so this was a fabulous way for me to combine the vintage images which I love and use up some of the piles of ephemera I have.
I decided not to over think this and just did it rather quickly, adding images, ephemera however I felt led. I had some previously stamped work laying around, so I used that on some pages too. And I was thrilled with it. It was so relaxing.....as I said I worked on it for hours. I finished the book, too. About 32 pages in all These are some of my faves..

These are each stunning! I love this idea. You collaged each so beautifully. To have a book full will be a masterpiece!
I just love this idea---thank you for sharing it. Yours turned out beautifully. Makes me wanna run out to my thrift store to see if there is anything there suitable ;)
Isn't this totally addictive? I am thoroughly enjoying Mary's online class. The hardest part is not picking up the stamps and ink to add to a page. This will help clean out your stash of scrap printed papers, too.
You sure found a good book to use as a base and your results are fantastic. Hope I'm not in trouble for introducing you to gluebooks :)
oh what a lovely idea your book is beautiful Louise, i would love to do something like this but im guessing finding the right book to start would help loads.
This is your specialty, beautiful collage work - inspires me :)
Wow, these pages are sooooooo gorgeous!
NO STAMPS, INKS OR EMBELLISHMENTS! WHAT??? Kidding! Seriously, how freeing would that be? Just gluing paper down, what a refreshing idea, and your pages are spectacular! I might have to check out this class. I have so many vintage images on a CD that would be PERFECT for this application, cause I don't want to cover them up with ink or stamps, they're too pretty!
You are a natural Louise and could teach a class yourself! I love how all of your pages turned out and I'm glad you said you didn't overthink the layouts....I might even be able to give this a try, maybe :)
This is such a charming project, I love all the lovely pages and the original book is the perfect base. I think I'm going to try this too, thanks for the wonderful inspiration!
bless you,
nancy
I have to research this! it is just darling! Thanks for the inspiration!

Wow! What a great idea for that book. It looks fantastic!
